A Message from Mountain Resource Center’s Board President
Dear MRC Community,
On behalf of Mountain Resource Center’s Board of Directors, I want to share that Sarah Kinzer has announced that, after seven and a half years of distinguished leadership and service, her last day as MRC’S Chief Executive Officer will be October 30, 2026.
We are deeply grateful for Sarah’s leadership and the many ways she has strengthened MRC during her tenure as CEO. She has built a strong foundation for the future by developing a talented and diverse team, enhancing relationships with volunteers, partners, donors, and the broader community, and expanding MRC’s ability to respond to growing needs. She guided MRC through the extraordinary challenges of the pandemic and the funding shifts that followed, while continuing to expand services — including launching the Mobile Market in 2021 and a fully licensed preschool in 2024, which has since earned a Level 5 rating from Colorado Shines. Under her leadership, MRC also paid off its mortgage, creating greater opportunity to invest in our future. We are grateful for the resilience, vision, and dedication Sarah has brought to MRC and for the strong position she leaves the organization in today.
As we look ahead, the Board is committed to a thoughtful and intentional leadership transition. Amanda Gregg, MRC’s current Vice President of Programs and Services, will serve as Interim CEO while the Board begins its formal search. Amanda has been part of MRC for six years and brings deep knowledge of our organization, programs, staff, and community to this role. We have great confidence in her leadership and are grateful for her willingness to guide MRC through this transition.
While this is an important moment for MRC, our mission and commitment to our community remain as strong as ever. We are proud of the organization we have built together and confident in the opportunities ahead.
Please join us in thanking Sarah for her years of service and leadership. We are grateful for the many contributions she has made to MRC and our community and wish her all the best in what comes next.
And thank you, as always, for your continued engagement and belief in Mountain Resource Center. You help make MRC strong, and we look forward to continuing to serve the community alongside you.
With gratitude,
Steve Hayes
President, Board of Directors
