Mountain
Resource Center’s Youth Advocacy programs deliver
innovative leadership development, health and social education,
and community services to local youth. Trained peer leaders
deliver educational lessons to reduce bullying and promote
healthy relationships in elementary and middle school classrooms
and educate peers about dating violence in the area high
schools. Additionally, a group of teen leaders sponsor safe,
drug-free events for youth, conduct community forums to
build cross-generational communication, and publish teen-written
magazines for local youth and adult audiences highlighting
health, safety, and social issues.
