Isolated
by geographic, economic, and communication barriers, mountain
area residents and daycare providers often struggle to maintain
the health and welfare of resident children. Mountain Resource
Center’s Early Childhood Education Program helps families
take responsibility for their children’s health and
maximizes the potential for children to achieve long-term
well-being. The “Tot Group” is an inclusive
play group that involves parents of children having special
needs with parents of children who achieve normal developmental
milestones. Through the medium of play, parents learn how
to evaluate, design, and maximize developmental and learning
opportunities for their children.
